Run the reports

Goal

Answer the questions that come up every month — who joined, who left, what was booked, what it was worth, who books most — on paper or as a PDF.

Prerequisites

  • You hold Sports & Leisure — centre manager (or a role that can read what the report prints).
  • Sports & Leisure is imported (the psl-sports-leisure solution).

Steps

  1. Open Sports & Leisure. The reports are in four areas on the rail: Membership reports, Booking reports, Financial reports and Customer reports.
  2. Select a report. It runs straight away, with today’s data.
  3. Print it, or save it as a PDF, from the viewer.
  4. For one customer’s booking history, open the customer from Customers and choose Print → Booking history.
  5. For a sale’s receipt, open the sale from Till → Sales and choose Print → Receipt.

What happens behind the scenes

Each report is a saved query — the question — and a printed table over it. It reads with your permissions, so two people printing the same report can see different rows. A report grouped by day or month uses your time zone, so an evening booking is on the day you would expect.

A few questions are printed as the figures a rate is made of, because a report adds and counts but does not divide: Bookings by outcome gives each month’s bookings by how they ended (the cancellation rate is Cancelled over the total), and Class occupancy gives places booked beside places. Resource use counts bookings of each resource; the hours are on Today. EPOS revenue is what the tills took each month at each location, tax included, beside what was given back on those sales.

Troubleshooting

  • A report is empty. Nothing it counts has happened yet — or your role cannot read that table.
  • I want a different question. Change the saved query behind the report; the report follows it.
