Get started with Parsware Sales
Goal
Find your way around Parsware Sales: the people who might buy, the customers who have, and everything you have done with them.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in, and your administrator has given you the Sales role.
- Parsware Sales is installed in your environment. It appears in your list of apps as Parsware Sales.
What is in it
Open Parsware Sales from your apps. Its navigation has two groups.
Sales
- Leads: people who got in touch or were introduced, before they are customers. The app opens here, on All leads. New leads shows the ones nobody has picked up yet, newest first.
- Accounts: the companies you sell to.
- Contacts: the people at those companies.
Activities
- Activities: every email, phone call, task, appointment and note, in one list. It opens on All open activities, the work still to do. The other views narrow it to one kind, and Emails that failed to send lists any email that did not go.
The timeline
Open a lead, an account or a contact and its form has a Timeline: every activity about that record, newest first. It is where you see what has happened with a customer, and New on it starts an email, a call, a task, an appointment or a note that is already about them. See See what happened with a record.
A trial with customers already in it
A trial or demonstration environment may have demonstration data installed: eight invented companies, their people, ten leads and a few months of activities. Harbourline Logistics, Ferrow Cycles and the others are not real, and their phone numbers ring nobody. An environment you use for real customers does not have them.
What your role lets you do
The Sales role reads, creates and changes leads, activities, accounts and contacts, and can delete leads and activities. It cannot delete an account or a contact. A customer with a history is not something to erase by accident; ask an administrator if one really has to go.
