Get started with Sports & Leisure

Goal

Get a sports or leisure business running in Parsware: its locations, the courts, pitches and pools in them, the memberships it sells, and the people who hold them.

Prerequisites

  • You can import solutions into the environment (an administrator).

Steps

  1. From Solutions, import psl-sports-leisure. Tick Include demonstration data if you want the three example centres described below.

  2. Give your staff their roles:

    RoleFor
Sports & Leisure — centre managerwhoever runs the business and sets it up
Sports & Leisure — receptionistthe front desk: customers, members and memberships
Sports & Leisure — instructorcoaches and teachers
Sports & Leisure — till operatorwhoever serves at the till
  3. Open Sports & Leisure from the app launcher. It opens on Bookings. Its navigation is in areas — Front desk (bookings, classes, customers, the till), Finance, Reports and Settings — with the switcher at the foot of the navigation; Today shows in every area.

One solution

Everything — locations and members, prices, bookings, billing, classes, the till, Today and the reports — is one solution, imported once. There is no order to get right.

What happens behind the scenes

The demonstration data is three businesses, one of each shape the product is built for:

  • Riverside Tennis Club — four courts, closed on Mondays.
  • Northfield Football Centre — Pitch 1 in four sections (1A–1D), and Pitch 2, which is only booked whole.
  • City Leisure Centre — a pool in six lanes, a studio and a gym.

It also brings five membership types, eight customers and seven members — one of them suspended, one a prospect and one cancelled. A Production environment refuses demonstration data.

Every table is audited from the moment the package is imported, so who changed a membership, and when, is always on record.

Troubleshooting

  • The app is not in the launcher. You need one of the four roles above.
  • A receptionist cannot change a membership type. That is deliberate: the configuration belongs to the centre manager, and the front desk sells from it.
