See today at a glance

Goal​

Start the day knowing how it looks: what is booked, what is on, who has come in, and whether anything needs chasing.

Prerequisites​

  • You hold Sports & Leisure — centre manager or receptionist.
  • Sports & Leisure is imported (the psl-sports-leisure solution).

Steps​

  1. Open Sports & Leisure and select Today, first on the rail.
  2. Read the nine figures: Bookings today, Classes today, Attendance today, Active memberships, Failed payments, Revenue this month, Resource use today, Class occupancy today and Till sales today.
  3. Under them, Bookings today, by location and Places in today’s classes, and two lists — Confirmed bookings and Scheduled class sessions. Select a row to open it.
  4. Select Refresh to work the figures out again.

What happens behind the scenes​

Every figure is worked out on the server, as you, in one call — so it is what you are allowed to see, and the same figure a phone app will show. Today is each location’s own day.

  • Revenue this month is the payments taken this month — by billing and at the tills — less refunds, plus what this month’s bookings are worth as priced — bookings are not yet paid through billing.
  • Resource use today is how much of the bookable time is held: courts, pitch sections, lanes and studios that are booked, over the hours each location is open. A pitch booked whole counts in each of its sections; the gym floor, which is used without booking, is left out.
  • Class occupancy today is places booked over places, across today’s classes.
  • Till sales today is what the tills took for sales paid today, tax included, less anything given back on those sales since.

Troubleshooting​

  • Today shows a message instead of figures. Your role cannot read everything the figures count — payments most of all. An instructor or a till operator uses the lists instead.
  • A figure looks out of date. Select Refresh; the page works them out when it opens and when you ask.
