Get started with the banking organisation
Goal
Set up the bank's structure — units, positions and the people in them — so that nobody changes it directly and every change is a request that the right people approve.
Prerequisites
- You can import solutions into the environment (an administrator).
One solution
Import pbo-banking-organisation (Banking Organisation) from Solutions. It brings:
| Part | What it brings |
|---|---|
| Organisation | Units, unit types, positions, jobs, job titles, work centers |
| Workforce | People, and who holds which position and since when |
| Governance | Change requests, their approval, reports, and the roles that close the door |
The organisation as a tree is the Units list's Organisation chart view, in the Organisation app, and Organisation chart in the Workforce and Governance apps. Select a unit and choose to show the chart from it to see only that branch.
Give people their roles
| Role | For |
|---|---|
| Banking organisation — view | everyone who works with the structure |
| Banking organisation — request changes | whoever may ask for a change: branch managers, heads of department |
| Banking organisation — approve changes | every manager a request can be sent to |
| Banking organisation — HR | HR |
Then, in the Organisation app, open Process Roles and give Banking organisation — HR to each person who approves for HR.
Nobody can create, change or delete a unit, a position or a person directly — not HR, and not through the API. Every change is a request.
Try it with the demonstration bank
Tick Include demonstration data when importing pbo-banking-organisation. You get a head office, Region North with Branch 001 and Branch 002, and Human Resources, with six people in their positions. Branch 002's Teller 1 is empty, so there is somewhere to move somebody.
Nobody in it is linked to a user. To act as one of them, open their person record and set User.
A Production environment refuses demonstration data.
