Read an app's guide
Goal
Find out how to do something in the app you are using, such as taking a booking or closing the till, from instructions written by the people who built the app.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in and have opened an app.
Steps
- Select Help (the question mark) in the top bar.
- If the app has guides, Help opens a menu. The app's guides are listed first.
- Choose a guide. It opens in a panel beside the page, so you can follow the steps while you work.
- A link inside a guide may open another guide. Links to websites open in a new tab.
- Close the panel with its × or with Esc.
Platform help at the bottom of the menu opens this help site in a new tab. An app with no guides keeps Help as a plain link to this site.
Buttons that open a guide
A screen, a form or a list may have its own Help button. Pressing it opens the guide for that page in the same panel.
In your language
A guide is shown in your language when the app's makers have translated it. Otherwise it is shown in English, and a note under the title says so.
Expected outcome
You read the steps beside the screen they describe, without leaving the app.
