Delete an Environment
Goal
Permanently remove an environment and its isolated data from your tenant.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in to the Admin Control Center as a platform administrator.
- The environment you want to remove exists.
Steps
- Open the Environments page from the left navigation.
- Select the environment's row by its checkbox.
- Select Delete, then Delete again in the confirmation.
- The status shows Deleting while the environment is torn down, and the environment leaves the list once teardown completes.
Users, teams, security roles, publishers and app registrations belong to the tenant and are not removed.
What happens behind the scenes
The environment's isolated data area is torn down completely, so its data cannot outlive the environment. This is a clean, complete removal — the environment and everything created inside it are gone. Because a solution belongs to one environment, the environment's solutions (and the components inside them, its tables and their data, and any custom apps or controls installed in it) are deleted along with the environment. Solutions in your other environments are not affected.
Troubleshooting
- The status shows Failed after deleting — teardown did not complete. Try the delete again; if it keeps failing, contact your platform operator.
Deleting an environment permanently removes all of its data. This cannot be undone. Make sure you have exported anything you need first.
